The four-day 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance concluded successfully in Shanghai. Under the theme "Intelligent Partners, Co-creating the Future," the event set new records with an exhibition area exceeding 100,000 sqm, over 1,100 companies showcasing 4,486 exhibits and 349 global debuts, and more than 400,000 offline visitors. The strongest signal from this year's conference: the three-year-long model parameter arms race has formally given way to AI agent commercialization, with "getting things done" replacing "being able to chat" as the new benchmark of AI value. Embodied intelligence was designated as a core track for the first time, with 242 robotics companies exhibiting. Domestic computing infrastructure advanced from single-chip competition to supernode cluster synergy, featuring Huawei's Atlas 950 supernode and Sugon's 100,000-card cluster. A historic milestone in global AI governance was achieved — the World AI Cooperation Organization (WAICO) was established in Shanghai with 29 founding member states. President Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech.
